Ceol na Coille will take place this July 8th-12th and has been running annually from 2012. It is one of Donegal’s, if not Ireland’s leading summer schools of traditional music, bringing in students not only nationwide, but from all over the world. The summer school is organised and run by – Coirm – a non-profit organisation made up of a committee of volunteers.
The summer school has grown in popularity each year and this is largely to do with its local outreach programs in schools and wider community, and in offering scholarships. These scholarships provide students who might not 
otherwise be able to attend the summer school with an opportunity to learn from first-class tutors during the week and enjoy the experience in a friendly and encouraging environment.
The summer school welcomes music enthusiasts of all ages and abilities with our Trad Camp for kids, Intermediate and Advanced workshops for all ages and Trad Group for secondary school and college level students as well as a host of events open to public.
Would you, your business or organisation, consider sponsoring a young musician to attend our summer school?
You could help a young aspiring musician by making a donation to our scholarship scheme.
A scholarship will allow a young musician to attend the 5 day Summer School of workshops, recitals and a range of immersive and inclusive activities in music, song and dance.
Your donation can help a young musician,
- Attend masterclasses in a variety of instruments, song and dance
- Opportunity to learn from and hear world class musicians and performers
- An opportunity to perform in informal sessions and concerts
If you would like to sponsor this year’s summer school, we would gladly accept any form of sponsorship, whether this is the full scholarship amount of €150, half or more! As we are a non-profit organisation, any help is always greatly appreciated.
