Calling traditional musicians aged 13+. An exciting opportunity to work with exceptional musician and composer – Theresa Kavanagh from Gort a’Choirce, Donegal –  on a newly commissioned piece for Ceol na Coille Summer School 2024.

Theresa is commissioned to write new music for the Coirm Ensemble at Ceol na Coille summer school in July. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Theresa and members of the Coirm Ensemble to explore ways of writing music notation in composition.

Theresa coimisiúnaithe le ceol nua a scríobh do Ensemble Coirm ag Scoil samhraidh Ceol na Coille i mí Iúil. Beidh deis ag na rannpháirtithe oibriú le Theresa agus baill den Choirm Ensemble chun bealaí le nodaireacht cheoil a scríobh sa chumadóireacht a fhiosrú.

Overall, this promises to be an enriching and inspiring experience. Participants can attend the morning instrumental workshops from 10am-1pm and the ensemble workshop with Theresa 1.45-4pm. The new piece will be performed on Friday 12th July as part of the final concert of this years summer school and again during Letterkenny Trad Week in January 2025.
