Una Ni Bhriain, Ceol na Coille Summer School

Una Ní Bhriain – Introduction to Music (5+ Years)

A Dancer, Fiddler and Singer, Una is a past graduate of University College Cork in Music and German and currently teaches in Coláiste Ailigh in Letterkenny. Una has toured extensively with Comhaltas, Planxty O Rourke and Tuath as a performer and promoting the Irish Language, Music and Dance. Una is a proud fourth generation family member of the Uí Ruairc School of Irish Dance in Limerick and co-founder of Ceol na Coille.
Una is coordinator and tutor for the Introduction to Music classes.
Suitable for all budding musicians! 5+ years. No prior music experience necessary. Kids will learn basic tunes and techniques and will also get the opportunity to try various other instruments used in traditional music including percussion. Singing and dancing will also form part of the weeks activities with lots of fun guaranteed.

Drop in to the Conversation Circle which will be happening every day at 1:45 as part of the Ceol na Coille Summer School in Coláiste Ailigh, Letterkenny, 11-15 July. Get a wee drop of Irish! The daily tutor recital will also take place from 3-4pm Thanks to @DepartmentofCultureIRL for helping making this happen with funding support

Celebrating 10 Years

Ceol na Coille Summer School and Trad Camp are celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year. We are looking forward to welcoming back friends from around the globe as well as new pupils. One of the Highlights this year is our anniversary concert in collaboration with the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny who over the past 10 years have been a huge support of Ceol na Coille in all its events. New Term – New Classes at Ceol na Coille

With the new term commencing and the gradual easing of restrictions, we are delighted to welcome new students to Ceol na Coille.

We have new Beginner Classes for children and adults along with our existing classes for all levels. A Return to Music class for those wishing to dust off an instrument that may have been set aside for a while. There will also be a new Beginner Guitar class this term. Ceol na Coille Trad Summer School 2020

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Ceol na Coille Trad Summer School 2020 will not take place this year.
In these unprecedented times, the health and safety of students, tutors and the local community is of utmost concern. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but feel this is the correct action to be taken.
 Our dates for 2021 are 12th-16th July.
2021 will be our 10th anniversary year and with an even bigger ‘Jammed Packed’ program of events, we hope to welcome you all again.
